- Major Mahama suspects remanded at the Nsawam prison

The 19 main suspects facing trial for the gruesome murder of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama have been remanded into prison custody by an Accra Circuit Court.
The judge Ebenezer Kweku Ansah made the call following a plea by the prosecutor, George Amega to give them time for a duplicate docket to be sent to the Attorney General for advice.
The prosecutor also told the court the suspects continuous stay at the police cells makes it easier for people to have access to them.
The presiding judge thus adjourned the case to August 3. The suspects were sent to the Nsawam Medium Prison.
On May 29, 2017, a mob in Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region lynched the army commander who was on official duty to combat illegal small-scale mining, popularly known as galamsey.
Major Mahama received state burial last the Osu Cemetery in Accra. He left behind a wife and two children.
