- The presidency has confirmed it has received a petition for the impeachment of the EC boss
- Charlotte Osei is being alleged of causing financial loss to the state
The petition filed by some EC workers for the impeachment of the EC boss, Charlotte Osei, has finally been received by the presidency, the communications director at the Flagstaff House, Eugene Arhin has confirmed.
The 27-point petition filed by these angry workers cite instances of the abuse of power, mismanagement of public funds and the causing of financial loss to the state as probable claims warranting the dismissal of Charlotte Osei.
So far, the EC boss, Charlottte Osei has not reacted to the said petition but YEN.com.gh can gather that the embattled EC boss could be engaging her lawyers on the said allegations levelled against her.
These angry workers claim Madam Osei fiercely abused the powers of her office in the awarding of "fraudulent" contracts to some companies including the Superlock Technologies Limited (STL) and IT Firm, Dream Oval which she paid $76,000 to.
With a new government in place, this petition against Charlotte Osei "could" take yet another political turn especially if it means she being asked to proceed on leave for investigations into the allegations to be conducted and completed.
