This claim was made by the acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, John Boadu, following the press conference of the NDC on Thursday.

He was reacting to the NDC chairman’s assertion that the recent violent killings that have happened in the country are as a result of the vigilante groups affiliated with the ruling NPP.

In a report by Adom FM, Mr. Portuphy alleged that the Lapaz shooting which led to the death of a police officer last week, was perpetuated by ‘militant goons’ associated with the NPP.

He further alleged that aside the Invincible Force and the Delta Force, the ruling party had another vigilante group associated with it called the Volta Crocodiles.

However, the NPP secretary dismissed these claims, stating that the NDC chairman had no business criticizing the NPP and its affiliates.

John Boadu opined that these statements are just part of efforts of Portuphy to gain the attention of his part, so that he could remain at his position.

Meanwhile, the NDC has accused the president of misusing state funds, as he takes large amounts of 'per diem' for his trips outside the country.

"Is it $5000 or $4000? How much do his aides also take? Is it $2000 or $1000 as being rumoured?,” Kofi Portuphy quizzed when he addressed a press conference at the party headquarters.

Mr Portuphy added that Ghana is now unsafe to live in, with the NPP administration is presiding over a “pool of blood” in just six months after taking office.
