Chairperson of the EC, Charlotte Osei

He stated that the reason some of the staff at the EC want Charlotte Osei removed is because she is abusing her office.

He went ahead to say that it wasn’t a personal vendetta, but he finds it difficult to sit down and allow things to get out of hand.

Ayariga went on to say that the EC chair has two secretaries; one of them takes $1500 and the other takes $2500 a month as salary.

Aside that, she is reported to have spent GHc40m in the renovation of her office. These developments, he believed, are not right.

In recent times, some workers of the EC petitioned the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to cause to be investigated charges of abuse of office levelled against the EC chair.

The six – paged petition they presented cited provisions of Ghana’s constitution that, in their opinion, are enough grounds to cause her removal from office.

The presidency has, meanwhile acknowledged receipt of the petition.
