-An army man is in police grips for threatening to release uncompromising pictures of an SHS student
-He intended to use the pictures to blackmail the student
-The SHS student reported the issue to her brother who informed a journalist about the incident
Warrant Officer Asiedu has been arrested by the Takoradi Central Police in the Western Region for attempting to blackmail a young lady in Senior High School with some inappropriate pictures of her he had in his possession.
The Warrant Officer who is stationed at the Ghana Armed Forces Base in Takoradi is believed to have for months constantly requested for inappropriate pictures from the SHS student. After the young lady had finally given in to his incessant demands, the army man threatened to release the photos if the young lady did not give in to his desires. He added that he was going to spread the pictures all over social media if the SHS student did not change her mind about his amorous requests.
The SHS lady, feeling threatened by the military man reported the incident of the persistent pestering of the military man to her brother who in turn reported it to some journalists.
The journalist who took up the matter reported the situation to a member of the National Security. The parties involved teamed up and arranged for the SHS lady to meet the Warrant Officer at a hotel.
The police immediately swooped in on the military man and took him into custody. The Takoradi Central Police also took into their possession the computer on which the said uncompromising pictures were saved along with some mobile phones believed to contain some of the pictures.
Warrant Officer Asiedu who is mow entangled with the law is assisting the police with their investigations into the matter.
