- According to them, Mr. Atik Mohammed’s criticisms at the party’s flag bearer is causing damage to the party’s reputation
Atik Mohammed, the General Secretary of the People’s National Convention has reportedly been indefinitely suspended for ‘gross misconduct.’
According to a report by MyJoyOnline.com, the suspension was a unanimous decision by the national executives of the party.
Atik Mohammed was accused of causing damage to the party’s reputation, with his many public rants against the leader of the party, Dr. Edward Mahama.
He was especially cited for speaking out against the party’s flag bearer over the recent appointment as Ambassador-at-large by the Akufo-Addo government.
The meeting which was chaired by the National Chairman of the PNC, Bernard Mornah reportedly took 7 hours as they executives were discussing their next course of action in the coming years.
However, Atik Mohammed in a Facebook post has debunked the claims that he has been suspended.
“My attention has been drawn to some news that I have been suspended indefinitely. It is not true and indeed, no organ of the party save National Congress is clothed with such powers. I will officially be issuing a statement to this effect,” he said.
