Isaac Dogboe has maintained his World Boxing Organization title after defeating Javier Chacon in a match on Saturday night.
The Ghanaian boxer proved his worth in the match held at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra to keep his WBO Super Bantamweight belt.
Dogboe started the match with a ferocious energy which he maintained throughout all the round as he kept going straight for his Argentine counterpart with incessant punches.
In the six round, the 22-year-old landed a left hook on the one-time World Title contender.
Though Javier Chacon was able to maintain his stand, Dogboe's enigmatic batters proved too much for him and he gave up on the match early into the 7th round.
In a post match interview, Dogboe commended his counterpart saying, "Chacon is a very tough fighter, he can move his head very well".
He also added that with his win, he feels he is ready to contend for the world title as "that has been [his] target from day one".
