The Ministry of Trade and Industry has announced government's initiative to reduce unemployment in the Central Region by putting up about 30 new factories.

It was revealed that the factories are a part of government and President Nana Addo's "One District, One Factory" campaign initiative.
This was revealed by the Deputy Trade Minister, Mr. Robert Ahomka-Lindsay at the Central Regional Delegates’ Conference of the sitting New Patriotic Party.
Mr. Ahomka-Lindsay stated that plans for the construction of the factories were already in motion and should soon be implemented.
According to the Minister, the initiative shows the Trade Ministry's has put in place a "job creating engine" in all its policies to address unemployment in Ghana.
He also called on players in private sector to also reach out to the Ministry of Trade and Ministry as the latter was ready to position private the sector "engine of growth and the catalyst for Ghana's industrialization drive."
The Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency said the vision of the government was to modernize agriculture, improve production efficiency, achieve food security and profitability for farmers, all aimed at significantly increasing agricultural productivity.
