The speaker of parliament brought his son, Mike Ocquaye Jnr to the altar of God as he (Mike Gabo Ocquaye ) prepared to make his way to India as Ghana’s ambassador to the said country.
Being from a Christian background, it is expected for the Speaker of parliament, who doubles as a pastor, to lay hands on his son for the arduous task ahead.
Mike Oquaye was one of the twenty-two persons named in President Nana Akufo-Addo’s second batch of ambassadorial postings charged to preserve and promote the image of Ghana whose reputation among the comity of nations is high.
He is to serve as Ghana’s Ambassador to India. He has a deep understanding of the Indian culture and diplomacy and many have expressed optimism he would succeed.
The appointment of ambassadors saw key party members as Dr. Adjei Barwuah, and the former CHRAJJ boss, Anna Bossman. Nana Addo has impressed on these ambassadors to ensure that they use their influential roles to shore up foreign direct investments in the country as he believes it will increase the economic viability of the country.
