Mr. Samuel Atta Mills, brother of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, has dismissed claims made by his nephew, Mr. Kofi Atta Mills, stating that the late president's family never saw the autopsy report regarding the former Head of State's death.
On Monday, July 25th, Mr. Kofi Atta Mills, son of late President John Evans Atta Mills alleged that he was never informed of his father's cause of death. He also alleged that the 37 Military Hospital - where the former President was pronounced dead - never gave the family an autopsy report.
“I don’t think any member of my family will be able to give evidence of how President Mills passed away,” said Kofi Atta Mills, speaking during the fifth anniversary of his father's passing.

But the late president's brother, Hon. Sam Atta Mills, who's also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem (KEEA) constituency, responding to these comments contradicted his nephew and stated that the former president's family were indeed given an autopsy report.
“At the time his father passed on, five years ago, how old was he? I was there and it has never been a topic for discussion." Said the KEEA MP and brother of former president Mills, adding that if his nephew desired to talk about his father's death, he ought to speak to the elders of the family.
"If he wants to speak about it, we would be glad to tell him,” said Hon. Sam Atta Mills.
