Chairperson of the EC, Charlotte Osei, has alleged that the deputy electoral commissioner in charge of operations, Amadu Sulley, distorted the success of the elections through the embezzlement of funds aimed for the polls and also the illegal transfer of votes in that regard.

These allegations by the EC boss has thus been confirmed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the campaign manager of the party, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah says the recent bickering in the EC is confirmation that there were indeed some election irregularities during the 2016 elections.

“I’m not allowed to say who is responsible but those things happened. There were instances where we had to move to the district offices and the National Headquarters to stop people. We were not informed, yet transfers were happening,” he revealed in an interview with Citi FM.

Meanwhile, calls are rife for the EC boss and all her deputies to step aside in the wake of the controversies rocking the commission.
