YEN.com.gh has learnt that the National road (N4)connecting Koforidua-Mamfe road has developed a gaping hole .

The hole around Nyame Bekyere - Tinkong strip which has rendered the road almost defunct with pedestrians and drivers alike expressing their concern for road safety.

Photos circulating social media shows half of the road closed to pedestrians with Adom FM News Anchor, Afia Pokua, also known as ‘Vim Lady‘ joining in on the debacle.

She posted images of the defect, with the caption, “While the E.C commissioners open fire on each other, this is happening somewhere in Ghana?”

The hole which stretches metres has been partitioned by a red-white tape and a rusty aluminum roofing.

Authorities are yet to give any particular reason for the gaping hole on the Nyame Bekyere - Tinkong road in Koforidua.

One Facebook user was quick to point out that a similar one was developing at a town called Nsuta on the Kumasi-Sunyani highway.

A user of the road expressed his deep seated grievance to YEN.com.gh, saying the road burst tire on his car and dislodged the ball joint and shaft.

According to to him, he ended up having to pay 4,360 Ghana cedis for repair on last week Tuesday.
