A representative of the Berekum Police Command, Chief Inspector Stephen Dapaa has said his division cannot arrest actress, Christabel Ekeh for publishing her controversial pictures.
According to the officer, the actress’ case falls out of the jurisdiction of the police command.
The Inspector spoke to Citi FM, where he explained the reasons behind the arrest of Rashida Mohammed, popularly known as Rashida Black Beauty, a teenager who had been trending for the past few days.
Eighteen-year-old Rashida last week released a video of herself showing off her body and her nether regions.
The video sparked mixed reactions on social media as many Ghanaians used the issue to bemoan the supposed falling standards of moral conduct among the youth today.
Rashida earlier this week arrested by the Berekum police releasing the video.
Inspector Stephen Dapaa in the interview with Citi FM, stated: “We picked her for an offense called publication of obscene material. You would recall that after the video there were other incidents of threats made by fans of Rashida daring people who would make comments about the video.
All those events could lead to some insecurity situation and so we needed to step in quickly, pick Rashida up and then go into the matter.”
The offense according to the Inspector falls under the Criminal Code, which constitutes as indecent exposure which is punishable by law.
Meanwhile, Rashida Black Beauty has come out to apologize for her behavior, explaining that the video was recorded long before she shot into the media limelight.
She revealed she recorded it for her boyfriend whom she claims was a white man who was living outside the country.
