God is my lawyer- Major Mahama iPhone thief cries

Kojo Fordjuor, the suspect who is being held accused of stealing the iPhone of the late Major Maxwell Adams Mahama appeared before court to answer for his role in the death of the military man.

When he made his appearance in the Accra Central district court, he was not accompanied by his legal counsel. He indicated that God was going to be his lawyer in the case.

Kojo Fordjuor who is a driver was one of the key suspects who had been on the police’s wanted list in connection with the death of Major Mahama.

During the court hearing, the Prosecutor on the case, Detective Inspector Simon Apiosornu indicated that the suspect was a key actor in the crime. He added that after the lynching of Major Mahama, an iPhone belonging to the military man was retrieved from the room of the suspect who had bolted from Denkyira-Obuasi after the death of the soldier.

Detective Inspector Simon Apiosornu added that Kojo Fordjuor was however arrested after intelligence had pointed the police to his hideout. The suspect, after his arrest admitted that the iPhone in question belonged to the military man.

The prosecutor told the court that they were yet to consolidate the charges brought against Kojo Fordjuor and some 19 other suspects in the case. He therefore pleaded with the court to remand the suspect till the consolidation was done.

The presiding judge on the case, Mr Worlanyo Kotoku has adjourned the case to August 3 when all the other suspects would appear in court.

There are now 20 suspects currently facing the law for the lynching of Major Maxwell Mahama. This includes the assembly member of Denkyira–Obuasi, William Baah.
