It is a crime to place passwords on WIFI at public places – Communications Minister

- She stated that in most countries, WIFI services are free at public places

- She added that businesses who render it as free service get to retain more clients, as people will spend more hours with them

The minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has stated that it is criminal if Wireless Fidelity (WIFI) isn’t freely provided at public places such as the airports.

She added that the situation may change soon, because it is freely available in some countries.

She went on to say that in selected public places in Accra, such as restaurants and drinking spots, a free WIFI service would bring in more clients.

This is because, people would be willing to spend more time there.

To her, it therefore makes good business sense if such hot spots in the capital could adopt such a business strategy.
