- Officials at North Dayi in the Volta region are operating from a toilet
- The lack of space is feared to have affected access to education in the region
The Ghana Education Service (GES) is reported to have refurbished a toilet room to an office following the issue of lack of space.
Reports by Joy FM reveals that the GES office at the North Dayi District of the Volta Region has seen officers miss out on work hours and productivity due to this development.
Speaking to the district education director, Benedict Abla Akatseh said the situation continues to drain the capacity to provide quality education across the country.
“I’m not satisfied with the facility under which we are working but there is no other alternative… It’s a sad situation but the office must operate,” she revealed in an interview with Joy FM.
The North Dayi District has a population of about 39,913 with 18,649 males and 21,264 females, according to the 2010 population and housing census.
