- The town of Denkyira-Obuasi has faced much condemnation since the lynching and death of Major Maxwell Mahama
- Some members of the clergy have condemned the town with promises of God’s wrath
- Rev. Lawrence Tetteh is set to hold a Healing and Restoration crusade in the town
The founder and presiding pastor of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach church, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh is planning a crusade to be held in the Denkyira-Obuasi township.
According to the pastor, he seeks to involve all the churches around the community, to come together for a Healing and Restoration Crusade.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh said even though the tragic incident which led to the death of Major Maxwell Mahama occurred in the town, the entire nation still shares the weight of the guilt regarding the incident.
Dr. Tetteh opined that Ghanaians needed to turn from their ways onto God’s path, especially since the people tend to ‘take things for granted.’
Dr. Lawrence Tetteh’s proposed crusade follows the current known state of the Denkyira-Obuasi town, which has a dark cloud over it after the horrific lynching of the army officer.
The town has faced much condemnation and backlash, with many of its residents fleeing after the incident occurred.
Some pastors have spelled days of doom ahead for the community, including Prophet Kumchacha who vowed to never step foot in the town.
He declared that even if his preaching of the gospel was the only way to save the souls of the residents, he would not visit the community.
Apostle Job Antwi had announced last week that he intended to hold a crusade in the town, which was still recovering from the backlash it experienced after the tragic lynching and death of an army officer.
In a series of photo posts on his Facebook wall, Pastor Job Antwi uploaded pictures of himself praying and preaching to the people.
