I'm happy with Jihad's sentence - assaulted employee

- Former Marwako Fast Foods kitchen staff member happy with manager's nine month sentence

- She says she was afraid he would be deported without serving jail time

- She's thanked certain government ministries, and Ghanaian media houses

Assaulted former employee of the Marwako Fast Food Company, Miss Evelyn Boakye, has expressed gladness at the recent sentencing of Mr. Jihad Chaaban to a nine months jail time for assaulting Ms. Boakye.

Following reports of Mr. Jihad Chaaban's nine months jail term sentencing, the victim of the assault, Evelyn Boakye has stated that she was elated upon hearing words of his sentence.

According to Ms. Boakye, she's glad Mr. Jihad Chaaba will serve jail time. She related that she was afraid the former Marwako manager would be deported and sent back to Lebanon without being punished right here in Ghana.

Mr. Jihad Chaaban was sentenced to nine months of jail time after being found guilty of offensive conduct. According to reports, Mr. Chaaban, in a spate of anger, allegedly smeared Ms. Boakye's face in ground pepper for allegedly messing about with the kitchen blender and taking too much time to do simple kitchen work.

Mr. Chaaban is also reported to have call the victim - Ms. Boakye - a prostitute on top of assaulting her by smearing her face in ground pepper.

Talking to Kasapa News, Ms. Boakye thanked the Lord above for the nine months sentence.

I went in for justice from the beginning of the case and justice has to be served. If the nine months jail sentence is what is justice for Jihad Chaaban to pay for what he did to me, then glory be to the Almighty God,” she said.

Ms. also went on to thank the various government ministries who got involved in he search for justice, and also thanked media houses in Ghana for their support.
