- Court has remanded suspected killers of Major Mahama into prison
- They are to spend one more month at Nsawam prison until September 7
The 20 suspects, standing trial for the killing of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama, are to spend one more month in Nsawam medium prisons.
An Accra Magistrate court today adjoined the case to September 7, 2017, to re-appear in court.
The court presided over by Magistrate, Ebenezer Kwaku Ansah remanded the 20 suspected killers into prison, after State Prosecutor DSP George Amegah told the court, investigations into the matter are still ongoing to get 13 more suspects arrested.
DSP Amegah also informed the court that, a copy of the docket has been sent to the Attorney General’s Department for an advice.
The 20 suspects have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder after 60 people were initially arrested in connection of the case.
The late army officer, Major Adam Mahama was killed May 29, 2017, after some angry youth of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region charged on him, killing him instantly.
They accused him of being an armed robber after they have detected pistol on him jogging.
Adam Mahama was laid to rest at the Osu Military Cemetery in Accra, leaving behind a wife, Barbara and two kids.
