Maybe you never thought you would live to see the day Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale compared to the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, who is widely revered as the founder of Ghana.
Well, a social media user in Ghana, @FkaDcln has drawn an extensive comparison between the "Taking Over" artiste and the liberator of modern-day Ghana.
1. He started his comparison by saying that both Shatta Wale and Kwame Nkrumah are "cultural icons.
In his words, as Dr. Nkrumah redefined Ghana, Shatta Wale redefined dancehall music in Ghana.
2. According to him both Shatta and Nkrumah are rebels against the system
"Both Shatta and Dr. Nkrumah are pioneers of the social rights movements in Ghana. Legends."
3. Both spent time outside Ghana to "rebrand" and find themselves
"Shatta's trip to Jamaica to rebrand from 'Bandana to SM' has been compared by critics to Nkrumah's exile in Guinea after his overthrow."
4. "Taking Over" is supposedly a tribute to the fight for independence
"Shatta Wale's song, 'Taking Over' depicts how Dr. Nkrumah fought for the freedom and independence of Ghanaians from the British Colony."
5. Both had supposedly pioneered "innovations" that helped Ghana
"Lets talk about their innovations. Nkrumah founded KNUST and Shatta invented Shatta bitters. Talk about impacting lives positively."
6. Both to be remembered for their activism
"In short. Shatta Wale will be remembered for ages to come for his activism and support of Ghanaians just like Dr. Nkrumah."
The thread by @FkaDcln has since gone viral attracting different comments from across the social media sphere.
Some users like @barry2432 tried to call him out for allegedly reducing the struggles of many.
And others expressed "shock" for learning something new in the thread
