Residents of Denkyira Obuasi, the very town where a soldier was lynched are calling for the return of their suspended district chief executive (DCE), Daniel Appianin.
Even ahead of the president's visit to the Eastern and Western regions, residents of Denkyira Obuasi say they will petition the president to revoke the suspension of the DCE who was told to step aside after making some unsavory statements after the death of the soldier.
Speaking to Joy News, chief linguist, Okyeame Kwabena Asare revealed that residents are very much eager to meet the president on this timely visit as they claim they would have the opportunity to engage the president on the suspension of their DCE.
"Everyone in this community is happy about the president's visit. We feel so relieved. Everybody is doing something to welcome the President. We have been clearing the bushy areas, sweeping and organizing communal labour since last week Monday. Many did not go to church on Sunday but took part in communal labour," he revealed.
