Truck kills two women in Kumasi accident

Two women have been confirmed dead with several others injured after heavy duty track with registration number 1917 run into a crowd in Ashante Regional Capital, Kumasi .

The articulator track loaded with cement run into a group of people at a market near Race Course, causing the death of two women around 9:00am this morning.

According to eyewitness, the driver of the track who is yet to be identified lost full control of the truck in his attempt to park at the shoulder of the road.

Others also suspects break failure as the cause of the accident.

But the Suame divisional Commander of the MTTU, K.K. Kawudie said one of the deceased identified as Bernice, is a first year student. Whiles the full identity of the market woman is yet to be ascertained.

The Commander noted that, the accident left several others trapped, which took the timely intervention of some service personnel and the police to remove the injured ones from the truck.

The MTTU Commander also added that, the Police is currently investigating matters to identify the driver in the case.

The body of the deceased victims have been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital whiles other surviving victims are receiving treatment.
