Mr. Christopher Gerard Hughton, coach of newly promoted English Premier League (EPL) side, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., has become the first born Ghanaian to coach an English Premier League side in history.
After three decades out of the EPL, Brighton & Albion F.C. have made a comeback to the British football's top league after creating a seven point lead following a 2-1 win against Wigan Athletic under the steady hand of Coach Chris Hughton.
Born Ghanaian, Mr. Chris Hughton, has become the first person of Ghanaian descent in history to coach a top flight premier league side.

In the final games of the 2017/2018 season, Brighton & Albion F.C. missed being automatically promoted to the premier league on goal difference. The team eventually clinched the promotion Mr. Chris Hughton is quoted to have said it wasn't really necessary.
Mr. Hughton, a former Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United player, has won the FA Cup three times in the eighties.

He was announced as the coach of Brighton & Albion F.C. with a three year contract. He later extended his contract to the year 2020.
