National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams believes Martin Amidu’s incessant attacks on the party is borne out of his envy and jealousy for former president John Mahama.
According to him, Mr. Amidu is just bitter about the fact that John Mahama snubbed him for certain positions during his time as Ghana president.
Martin Amidu is a former Attorney General and Minister for Justice, and was the running mate of the late Prof. John Evans Atta-Mills during the 2004 general elections.
However, he has been in conflict with the hierarchy of the NDC since being fired as Attorney General by the Mahama government, and has also been a strong critic of the party’s activities.
Speaking about the strained relationship between Mr. Amidu and the NDC, Kofi Adams was of the view that the former Attorney General’s attitude depicted nothing but sheer hatred towards John Mahama.
“I think Martin Amidu is just jealous and hates Mahama. He can’t stand the fact that President Mahama has achieved more than him and therefore has resorted to insulting him and accusing him wrongly. He is just bitter that he was denied his dream of becoming a Vice Presidential candidate of the NDC,” he told Okay FM.
According to him, “Martin Amidu doesn’t deserve any recognition and needs not to be given any attention and so I will never take him serious because everything he talks about is just borne out of bitterness and jealousy.”
There is currently a petition from some aggrieved members of the NDC who want Martin Amidu kicked out of the party following his incessant attacks.
