A popular Kumawood actress, Ama Boahema better known as Mama Kali is saying she’s not regretted pledging her support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a run up to the 2016 elections.
According to the actress, she declared her support for candidate Akufo-Addo to save Ghanaians from the dreadful economic hardship under the Mahama administration.
To her, the economic hardship under the previous administration was so severe that, it nearly collapsed the Kumawood movie industry.
Speaking in an interview recently, Mama Kali insisted that, it was a wise thing done by herself and the rest of her Kumawood colleagues in 2016.
The actress in a conversation defended that, President Nana Akufo-Addo is on the right track in fixing the country’s economy which was brought down by the Mahama administration.
Mama Kali insisted that, she is confident the NPP government will deliver all promises made to Ghanaians, though most of them have not seen light of day.
“I know at the right time things will get better, it’s a matter of time so let’s exercise restraints. I’ve not regretted joining the NPP,” she said.
The popular local actress maintained that, she is particularly happy about the Free SHS policy which is set to roll this September. Adding that most parents across the country are unable to pay for their ward’s education.
Ahead of the 2016 elections, popular Kumawood actors including Kofi Adu, aka Agya Koo and hosts of others declared their support for the NPP flagbearer Nana Akuffo-Addo.
The group who launched their ‘Agenda 57%’ cited the need for change of government in favour of then candidate, Nana Akufo Addo.

The Kumawood stars enumerated unprecedented economic hardships leading to job losses and high unemployment rate, poor healthcare provision as well as high utility and electricity tariffs as reasons to dislodge then sitting President John Mahama.
