PHOTOS: Widow of late Major Maxwell Mahama receives GH¢27,770 cash donations from military fundraiser
The family of murdered army officer, Major Maxwell Mahama has taken receipt of proceeds from a fundraising organiser by senior military personnel on behalf of the family.

The widow of the late Maxwell Mahama, who was killed in Denkyira Obuasi by some irate residents, received GH¢27,770 for the Adams Mahama family.

At a short ceremony at Burma Camp in Accra, one Proff-Kumordzie Double Double, who lead the fundraising campaign expressed his profound gratitude to all who donated to the cause and asked that "blessings" be multiplied unto them.

He thanks "Eugene Kwabena Ackah", "Kojo Asarr Jnr" "Yaw Frempong" and "Horatio Sam-Aggrey" for helping him set up the GoFundMe page for the fundraiser.
Proff-Kumordzie also said, "A big thanks to Elikem Fiamavleone of the finest Lt Colonels in the army and Getty Kunde-Kwallinjam who worked diligently in the background".

Photos from the ceremony show Barbara Maxwell, who was clad in black, receiving an envelope from the military officials.
Meanwhile, the court case of the suspects arrested for the murder of Major Mahama still rages on.

Chief and resident of the Denkyira-Obuasi have also issued a change in the name of their town in a bid to redeem their image and move away from the terrible image the lynching of Captain Mahama has given the town.
