The Progressive People's Party (PPP) has refuted claims that founder of the party, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom will not be contesting the elections in 2020.
Earlier reports by some sections of the media claim that the 2016 presidential candidate will be handing over to one of his sons for the flag-bearer position in 2020 but a press release from the party proves otherwise.
The communications team of the party makes the case there has been no such declarations by the party and that nominations for the position of flag bearer are yet to be opened.
"When dates are fixed by the National Committee and the various interests are indicated, we shall communicate same to Ghanaians and about our plans for the 2020 election," excerpts of the statement clarified.
Dr Nduom broke away from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stand as an independent candidate in 2008.
He has been defeated in all subsequent elections including the recently held one in 2016 where he was only able to garner a little over 1 percent of the total votes cast.
