Eight policemen in Kampala, Uganda have been arrested for literally sleeping on duty.
According to Daily Monitor, an Assistant Commissioner of Police named Siraje Bakaleke made impromptu visits to various stations in the city.
In one station, he found the eight policemen catching their forty winks while on duty on Friday night, August 4.
He promptly ordered their arrest and indicated that they would be arraigned in court on charges of being negligent while on duty.
Bakaleke pledged to continue his nightly tours to flash out what her termed as "lazy officers."
The arrests have triggered mixed opinions among Ugandans. Some have applauded Bakaleke's efforts and urged him to keep policemen vigilant.
