- Dr. Ekwow Spio – Garbrah wondered why the current administration chose to settle for 110 ministers, when the Mahama-led government run the affairs of the state with 80 ministers
- He also expressed worry over the excessive politicization of the public sector
Diplomat and politician, Dr. Ekwow Spio – Garbrah has indicated that the present government is systematically replacing members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He added that there is a grand scheme to politicize the public sector. This, he said, would set a dangerous precedent for the country.
To Dr. Spio – Garbrah, it is important for workers in the public sector to refrain from active politicking, as their offices serve as a support system for the government in power, and not necessarily for personal gains.
On the issue of unemployment challenges in the country, he stated that the government has no reason to state that the public sector is chocked, and for that matter cannot employ those who are willing and able to work.

He added that the present government promised to secure jobs for the citizens, and therefore cannot turn back on their assurance.
He queried the rationale behind the decision to have 110 ministers whereas the Mahama administration, which immediately preceded it, settled for 80 ministers.
To him, it nothing more than an agenda to secure jobs for NPP members.
