Terrorists attacked parts of the capital, Ouagadougou, hours after Ghana’s Black Stars met with their Burkinabe counterparts in a CHAN qualifying match.
The match is recorded to have taken place on Saturday, and the attack followed hours later, on Sunday morning, the time by which the Ghanaian team had safely returned home.
It was recorded that a total of seventeen people died, with eight others wounded in the attack.
According to witnesses, gunmen, numbering about three, opened fire in a restaurant, in which guests were seated.
