- A Plus is one of Ghana's most influential personalities on social media
- He has publicly questioned and criticised the paying of tithe to the churches
Musician and Politician, Kwame A Plus, has launched a scathing attack on Christians who put all their trust in pastors, with the hope of becoming rich overnight.
According to him, Christians must start to think carefully before sowing seeds or accept being "foolish born again Christians".
Reacting to the recent closure of UT and Capital banks - the latter which is rumored to be owned by the renowned Pastor Dr. Mensa Otabil - A Plus wondered why members of a church should be paying as much as $5,000 for miracles, just to see the Bank they paid their monies to collapse.
This, he said, was a sign that pastors are not superhuman after all, adding that if Pastor Otabil "can pray for you to become a millionaire why can’t he pray" to save his bank.
On Monday, the licenses of both the UT bank and Capital Bank were revoked by the Bank of Ghana, with both being taken over by the GCB Bank due to severe impairment of their capitals.
And with Pastor Otabil reportedly holding huge stakes in Capital Bank, A Plus believes the man of God should be able to "pray for the Bank to make money".
He further suggested that Christians will continue to be exploited by so-called men of God if they do not start to "think".
The musician and comedian's post on Facebook: "Not long ago a pastor asked his congregation to sow seeds into an account in a certain bank to make them millionaires. Today that bank’s Licence has been revoked and taken over by GCB due to what the central Bank describe as severe impairment of their capital. What I’m gathering is that the millionaire making pastor has a huge stake in this “ZERONAIR BANK” Those who still want to defend the pastor say he is only the board chairman. So even if he’s only the board chairman can’t he pray for the bank to make money? Or the angels are now doing susu for him? Bɔi!!!! Ayoooh!!! “You foolish born again Christians.” Think oooooo think. If he can pray for you to become a millionaire why can’t he pray into their “impairing capital.?”
