The National Democratic Congress political party has stated it intentions to investigate the takeover of two Ghanaian banks - UT Bank and Capital Bank - by GCB Bank.
According to a former NDC Member of Parliament, the two banks won several awards and thus the takeover was confusing.
Speaking to the issue, George Loh, former Member of Parliament for North Dayi Constituency criticised the organizers of banking awards in Ghana for throwing dust in the eyes of Ghanaians.
He stated that the two banks in question had swept many awards over the years. "...what signals were they sending to the people of Ghana?", Loh retorted.
The respected lawyer stated “...it means there is something wrong with our rating system in the country and we must take a look at them”.
The NDC, according to George Loh, are very displeased and uncomfortable with "what is happening" in Ghana and will investigate the issue.
He promised to "inform Ghanaians whether it is above board and they we should fear or not".
