- M.anifest pokes fun at UT and Capital Banks
- The GCB Bank Ltd has taken over the control of UT Bank and Capital Bank following the banks inability to remain solvent
Ghanaian rapper M.anifest is the latest celebrity to give his take on the takeover of UT and Capital Banks by GCB Bank.
The award-winning rapper, in a rather cheeky post, appeared to poke fun at the aforementioned banks to the delight of his followers.
A statement by the Bank of Ghana Monday confirmed the takeover, to the shock of many Ghanaians.
Musician and Comedian, Kwame A Plus, was one of the first celebrities to comment on the issue, after he criticized the board of the ‘swallowed’ banks.
However, the latest star to hop on the trending issue is rapper M.anifest. On his Twitter page, the artiste posted a cryptic message to both UT and Capital banks, appearing to hammer on the credibility of the now extinct banks.
M.anifest simply wrote: “When you can’t bank on banks…” Majority of his fans have since feasted on the tweet, with various meanings being read into the message.
The UT and Capital Banks have subsequently been deleted from the Ghana stock exchange, after the Bank of Ghana deemed them to be capitally impaired.
