The conversation around the UT and Capital Banks brouhaha is still ongoing, as fresh developments regarding the issue continue to emerge.
Om Monday, it was announced that the Ghana Commercial Bank upon approval from the Bank of Ghana will be taking over the two banks.
The news scene was awash with reactions from the financial quarters and the public alike, as this came as a big shock to Ghanaians, and no doubt some employees of the two banks.
As with a every major scandal that rocks the country, some sections of the public take it a tad too deeply and release writeups that justify or condemn the issues.
The same has happened with the GCB takeover saga, and rapper A Plus is having none of it, YEN.com.gh has gathered..
A WhatsApp broadcast that emerged on Tuesday linking the sad end of UT Bank to its former CEO Kofi Amoabeng’s words about tithing has angered the musician.
In the message, the writer blamed the bank’s current troubles on Amoabeng saying he did not believe in tithing.
According to the writer, the former UT Bank CEO’s words which he described as ‘ignorant’ are the proof that he (Amoabeng) is not ‘wiser than GOd.
However A Plus has descended heavily on Ghanaians who believe in this message.
He condemned the public for supporting such a notion, asking where or not the Bible said ‘do not rejoice even if your enemy falls’.
Some reports have said they will be placed on a six-month probation and there could be some possible job losses after that period.
