- India has donated 1 million dollars to Ghana as part of its 70th independence celebration
- This grant is expected to be aimed at renovating the seat of presidency
Government has received a one million dollar aid from India for renovation works at the flagstaff house.
It so far remains unclear if there are indeed any renovation works needed at the seat of the presidency but YEN gathers that the Indian government had offered the said grant for future construction works at that very place.
This donation, presented by the India minister of state for external affairs, M.J. Akbar, was received with a grateful heart by president of the republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
During his presentation, the India minister applauded the president for the various policies aimed at strengthening the lot of Ghanaians thus calling him the "father of democracy".
This donation raises so many questions top of which is whether in deed the seat of the presidency is in a bad shape needed emergency renovations.
Some political critics too may wonder if this amount of money by the Indian government have specific economic strings that both sides of government would not like sharing with Ghanaians.
