A mother in Johannesburg, South Africa wants Zimbabwean First Lady Grace Mugabe thrown in jail for allegedly beating up her 20-year-old daughter.
Debbie Engels, the mother of Gabriella Engels, said in an interview with journalists on Monday, August 14 that Gabriella had been left shaken.
Gabriella had earlier claimed on Twitter that Mrs Mugabe had attacked her at a Johannesburg hotel because she had partied with her two sons, Robert Jr, 25, and Chatunga, 21.
She shared a photo showing a cut on her forehead, which she said was a result of the assault.
She also wrote: “What is a girl compared to a women beating you and 10+ body guards standing back leaving her to do this s***?"
Debbie said: “[Gabriella] was in pain and couldn’t talk. She was only able to tell me what happened after she was given the medication for shock at the hospital.”
Mrs Mugabe handed herself over to police in Johannesburg and was due to appear in court on Tuesday, August 15.
She has been in South Africa reportedly for treatment of her ankle after a "freak accident." She is said to have paid a surprise visit to her sons' hotel room, where she apparently went berserk.
