Media personality and Ghana’s queen of comedy, Afia Schwarzenegger is reportedly taking legal action against Multimedia Group and the Nima Police command over her arrest reports last week.
Last week, it emerged that the TV host was arrested on fraud charges after a complaint was filed by the former manager of singer Becca, Kiki Banson.
Afia was also accused of offensive conduct and assault. However, the media personality has alleged all these reports are part of a ploy to defame her.
According to a MyNewsGH.com report, Kiki Banson and Afia were supposed to be collaborating together on a television project.
Afia reportedly presented an amount of GHC 10,000 to Kiki Benson, which was part of the funds mean to support the project given to her by the Endpoint Homeopathic Clinic CEO.
However a misunderstanding reportedly ensued, which prompted Kiki Banson to report Afia to the Nima Police Station.
A writ filed by Afia Schwarzenegger’s counsel on August 11, stated: “Feeling mollified, peeved and humiliated, Kiki Banson has resorted to all kinds of mischievous ways to damage Afia. So Kiki Banson chose to use the strategy of a fraud story.
He went with two CID Policemen from Nima Police station to plead with the Boss of Endpoint Homeopathic Clinic to write a police statement saying that he has been defrauded by Afia Schwarzenegger. The Doctor refused to write the statement. He told the Police that he gave the money freely to Afia to use it in whatever way she likes.”
Afia Schwarzenegger is reportedly demanding GHC 150,000 in damages for the shame brought on her reputation.
