Tragedy struck the community of Tatale in the Northern Region as the resident attacked and beat to death a suspected armed robber.
According to media reports, the deceased suspect was part of a gang of three robbers.
A report by Ghanaian online news publication, MyNewsGH.com had it that the robbers had reported attacked resident at Belando, a top spot in the area.
The said robbers, two of whom were identified as Nfobil and Ndombe, nearly made away with some valuables at a roadblock they had mounted to rob motorists.
However, their luck run out after the residents ganged up and beat them.
Two of the robbers were left with severe injuries and the lifeless body of the deceased deposited at the Tatali Hospital Morgue.
The police have, however, stated that they cannot confirm if indeed the lynched individual was an armed robber but have promised that, upon the recovery of the two injured persons, they would be able to get statements to clarify the facts.
