It was a moment of laughter during a public lecture at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) when former president Rawlings stopped an emcee from calling him a gentle giant.
The emcee, who termed the NDC leader with the title best known for NPP's John Kufuor had to face the laughter when Jerry Rawlings insisted that the title "gentle giant" remains the preserve of former president John Kufuor.
“Wait, who was he talking about? But Kufuor is the one referred to as the gentle giant. Yes but he’s called the gentle giant, you are trying to praise me but gentle giant I don’t hear it,”. Rawlings retorted.
Meanwhile, speaking on the topic; "The Role of the Council of State: A Critical Assay", Jerry Rawlings impressed on all political leaders to prioritize moves to restructure the composition of the council of state as he believes it will go a long way to deepen democracy in Ghana.
