- The controversy on whether marijuana is healthy and must be legalised in Ghana is still a big conversation
- Ekow Micah, is another musician who has given reason why 'weed' should be allowed in Ghana
Reggae artiste Ekow Micah has stirred controversy after remarking that weed smoking is something the Bible permits.
According to him, the Bible gives testament to the fact that even God smoked, therefore the act should be considered as a calling rather than a crime.
In his view, weed smoking is to the Rastafarian is what kontomire is to the vegetarian.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review show, Ekow Micah said the Bible verse Psalm 18:7-8 explains why weed smoking is okayed by God.
His comments come after Dancehall legend Samini also called for the legalisation of Marijuana last week, opining that its sale will help boost the Ghanaian economy.
Ekow Micah’s comments, though, are bound to stir controversy from the Christian community, with many arguing that his interpretation of the Bible is wrong.
Psalm 18:7-8 reads from the NIV Bible: “7 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. 8 Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.”
