One of Ghana’s award-winning screen goddesses, Yvonne Okoro has disclosed that she back is to school, and pursuing a law programme.
According to her, the decision to study was because she wanted to know her rights, and what options were available to her under the legal system.
Yvonne stated that law school is also an opportunity to challenge herself, as in life one should always have backup plans.
She was speaking on Peace FM’s entertainment show when she said, “I wanted to challenge myself because I always believe that there should be a plan B, C, D as a human being and where you come from. The A was to act and to be a producer and now that there are a few issues in the movie industry, I must go to plan B and plan B is to go back to school and then do law.”
The actress noted that there a lot of misconceptions about actors especially in Africa.
She said actors are usually judged by other people that they have no ‘depth’ as individuals; that actors and actresses are not smart enough, or they only pay attention to glamorous lifestyles and the red carpet.
So Yvonne asserted that law school is also her way of proving that these misconceptions are flawed.
