A couple of weeks ago, a picture posted on Facebook of a young man went viral and it has sparked a lot of talks about youth entrepreneurship in a country where unemployment seems to be on the high and fewer jobs are made available.
The young man was captured in a picture by a Facebook user selling groceries and some other essentials on a locally manufactured cart known as a truck.
What was striking about the incident was that, the young man was seen dressed in ‘smart clothes’ going about his business. Most of the items in the cart were the things that one would normally have to go to the market to buy.
This illustrious young man however thought it wise to bring the market produce to the doorstep of consumers to make it convenient for them to get all that they needed without having to go to the market to get them.
In a country where the unemployment rate keeps soaring, this young man had found an ingenious way to create a job for himself by selling foodstuff and looking very presentable for the job.
The Facebook user who posted the picture, Dickson Kofi Sackyi implored other young Ghanaians to stop giving excuses and do something to get themselves employed.
He admonished unemployed Ghanaians, especially the youth to dreate their own wealth and not wait to become employees.
Some other Facebook users commented on the spirited young man’s efforts and encouraged him to keep up the good work. Here are some reactions from other social media users on the incident:
