- Government says it is considering the use of mobile phones at SHS
- This plan is to ensure that ICT is expanded across the country
There will come a time when students in second cycle institutions are given an opportunity to take along their mobile phones to class.
This is according to the deputy education minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwu, who has disclosed that the move forms part of expanding access to information technology in Ghana especially in deprived communities where access to ICT is best had through the mobile phone.
" It will make sense for teachers to explore. And say this website is on your phone and teachers can teach ICT and put assignments on the internet. We need to look at the situation and say are we looking at the 21st century.” he revealed.
The comments by the minister follows an ongoing ban on the use of mobile phones at schools by the Ghana Education Service.
