Boss of Minerals Commission, Toni Aubynn, fired

CEO of the Minerals Commission, Dr Toni Aubynn has been ordered by government to proceed on leave.

Reports by Starr FM claims that the CEO had revealed this shocking and disturbing news to his staff during a management meeting on Monday, August 21.

So far, it remains unclear what may have necessitated this move by government as checks by YEN.com.gh indicate that he may be moved to a different position altogether.

Dr Aubynn also serves on a number of Boards, including the Council of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, and the Ghana Railway Development Authority. He also chairs the UN Global Compact Ghana Network as well as the Amenfiman Rural Bank, a leading Ghana Club 100 Rural Bank in Ghana.

He was best remembered for his stern advocacy against the act of illegal small scale mining which is currently banned by government.
