A police corporal at Akuapim-Mampomng in the Eastern Region has been arrested for allegedly selling India Hemp while on duty.
According to reports emanating from the Eastern Region Corporal Prince Opoku had been stationed at the NIB Bank, Mampong branch, to help maintain order and make the place safe for the routine transactions.
However, his movements drew suspicion from the manager of the bank who in turn kept a close eye on the corporal.
He is also reported to have brought known criminals in the community into the bank, where chatted with them on a daily basis.
Corporal Opoku was subsequently reported to the police by the hierarchy of the bank after CCTV footages captured him selling some unknown substances to his ‘customers’ right in the bank.

The police reportedly found a black polytene with 73 wrappers of weed, as well as other substances believed to be narcotic drugs.
Corporal Opoku is set to be processed for court after being charged for possession and peddling of illegal drugs.
