- The have warn Nigerians never to return to the community
- They say they are ready to avenge the death of their friend
Some angry youth of Sowutuom, a suburb of Accra and its environs have vowed to avenge the death of their friend who was stabb to death by a Nigerian national
The residents have warned Nigerians who fled the area after the incidents to never come back, since they are ready to ‘deal’ with them.
The Greater Accra Regional Police Command last week arrested a Nigerian national living in Sowutuom for killing a Ghanaian.
According to reports, the Nigerian had earlier accused the Ghanaian of stealing his mobile phone leading to altercations between the two.
Police say, the suspect then stabbed the Ghanaian in the abdomen, killing him instantly.
The incident was said to have triggered reprisal attacks by some angry youth, forcing Nigerians residing in the community to flee their homes.
The Greater Accra Police say they quickly dispatched heavily armed Police unit to the community on Saturday to avert possible clashes.
But some angry youth group in an interview with Adom FM in Accra today, threatened that they will not rest until they avenge the death of their friend.
They also warned Nigerian nationals living in Sowutuom never to return to the community
