- Angela, 72, married Nigerian man CJ, 27, just three months after he added her on Facebook
- They had their wedding in Nigeria but his visa application to the UK was rejected
- She has used £20,000 so far in three failed attempts to get him to the UK
They might have a gap of 45 years between them but 72-year-old Angela Nwachukwu insists that she and her 27-year-old Nigerian husband CJ are very much in love.
The two got married in April 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria, just three months after CJ added her on Facebook.
In an interview with The Sun, Angela said: “He makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. I know in my heart we belong together.”
However, their bid to return to the UK together after the wedding hit a snag when CJ’s visa was denied.
Despite spending a total of £20,000 (Ghc105k) on three attempts and on three visits to Nigeria, authorities still refuse to grant CJ a family visa because of insufficient income.
Angela has vowed to keep fighting for her to be with CJ as husband and wife, although as a pensioner who was only a taxi driver before retiring, she is running out of resources.
She believes CJ is not after money or simply getting into the UK. Her family has also embraced him.
She has three sons aged 50, 47 and 43, as well as six grandchildren. Her eldest grandchild is six years older than CJ.
