The police in the Eastern Region have arrested 11 suspected criminals including two teenagers for various narcotic related offenses.
The two teenagers boys aged 14 and 17, are among gangs who were arrested in connection with the drug business.
According to the police, over 175 wraps of compressed dried leaves suspected to be cannabis were retrieved from the suspects.
Speaking in an interview with an Accra-based Citi FM, the Public Relations Officer in the Eastern Region, Inspector Gideon Boateng said all the suspects are being processed for court.
He also added that drug business within the region is increasingly becoming a worry and the police have intensified efforts to clamp down the activities of criminals.
Inspector Gideon Boateng warned that the police will in immediate effect arraign anyone caught in any drug related offences.
Inspector Boateng added that the police service are at the moment transporting the cannabis to the Narcotics Control Board for further examination.
