- Former president Kufour has supported president Akuffo Addo's decision to investigate government officials
- He says Ghanaians must express interest in who's going to be the Special Prosecutor
Former president John Agyekum Kufour has expressed approval with government's plans to deal with corruption in his administration by first investigating those suspected to be corrupt.
According to Ghana's former head of state, President Nana Akudo Addo's approach towards rooting out corruption in his administration by probing certain perceived corrupt officials is the right approach.
Speaking to Citi News, former president Kufour pointed out that as a lawyer by profession, President Akuffo Addo's decision to investigate officials perceived as corrupt officials prior to taking further action is only natural.

"The president’s approach I believe is the right approach. After all he is a lawyer and you don’t convict people before you even investigated and tried them,” said former President Kufour.
Furthermore, president Kufour also said that Ghanaians ought to be interested in who President Nana Akuffo Addo finally appoints as Special Prosecutor, adding that the right person would provide the right solutions.
“...the most important thing for all of us to look forward to is that whoever is appointed as the special prosecutor would be the type of good person we are talking about.”
