Alavanyo’s ‘Odikro’ in critical condition as Nkonya residents attack them

Sporadic gunshots suspected to be the handiwork of the residents of Nkonya has left one person in a serious condition.

Information available to YEN indicates that some people from Nkonya stormed Alavanyo on Sunday, August 27, 2017.

The injured person, who is believed to be the ‘Odikro’ of Alavanyo has been sent to the Kpando Hospital.

The police have also been notified and have dispatched personnel to assess the situation.

A dusk-to-dawn curfew which is in effect, is currently being reviewed.

The two sides have been battling each other for almost a century, over a piece of land. The disputed land was recently taken over by the government.
